"The Game of Life", or TGoL, is a semi-realistic, post-by-post, wolf roleplay site based around a chess metaphor for a war between two packs: Light and Dark Pack,
respectively, to match the light and dark pieces on a chess board. The wolves themselves don't know anything about chess of
course, only that they are locked in a seemingly eternal battle for the rights to their thriving yet limited land. Tensions are
high, blood has been shed, and all must be careful which move they make next, for it could either ensure a victory for them or the end of everything. You, as a player, may either play a wolf
from one of the packs, directly involved with the war in some way, or a loner on the outside, either looking in, taking advantage of the distracted packs, or staying out of
it all together.

SPRING 01
The ice and snow of winter are finally starting to melt away as things warm up, making way for budding flowers, returning prey, and spring showers. Mating season is no longer in effect, but those whom did get pregnant should expect to give birth within the season, towards the beginning of Summer. Prey is steadily becoming a little more plentiful, which is good news, but all of the melting snow/ice and the spring showers are causing The Divide and Flatlands to flood, coaxing both packs to stay on their respective sides... lest they wish to get swept down stream.

A new announcement has been made in regards to major revisions/additions to the site! Read here.
4.2.2018 -
An "Activity" section has been added to the Rules thread, since I realized this was never clearly defined. In addition to this, a thread for making characters inactive and a thread to take an offical abesence have been added. I've also enabled guests to be able to view the IC and Player Record Book boards in their entirety so you can get a feel for activity/characters before joining the site!
4.1.2018 -
The theme's been changed to have a little more color and to be a bit more visually appealing!

TGoL has offically been completed and is now open to new members, so feel free to join and submit your characters for acceptance! We have many high rank positions open in both packs and would like to get those filled as soon as possible. Also, please advertise us to anyone you think might be interested!
If you have more than one character and are struggling to keep up with all of your combined threads, you may make one or more of your characters inactive. This means they will be moved to the inactive group (ergo temporarily removed from any other groups they may be a part of) and kept from posting on any IC boards until you request to have them moved back. By making your character inactive, you are excusing them from seasonal activity checks, but also promising they will eventually return.
If for whatever reason you lose muse for a character or don't want to role play them ever again period, you should probably kill them off or have them run away from the valley. This can be done by tying up all current threads with said character and posting a final thread for them, detailing how they leave, be it by death or leaving. You will then PM a staff member to have them moved to the "Deceased/Inactive" Board. Additionally, making chars inactive is meant to be a way to let you focus on certain characters, meaning you shouldn't make all of your characters inactive at once. If you lose your muse to role play completely, it might be a better idea to take an absence until you're ready to come back, found here.
Now, if you DO want to make your character(s) inactive, you will need to tie up all of their threads first so no one is left hanging. This can be done either by actually finishing the role play or, after PMing the involved players to discuss it first, posting an OOC blurb to briefly explain how the rest of the interaction(s) went, then exiting. Either way, your char must make an exit in all current threads before applying to become inactive. If you don't do this, the involved players have the right to skip your char and just assume they are not involved anymore.
Once that has been done, fill out the form below and within a week your character will be marked as inactive. Come back here at any time to request they be moved back when you're ready to start RPing them again, but keep in mind: inactivity should not extend past 1 year or 2 OOC activity checks. If 1 year is reached and they are still inactive with no okay from you to make them active again, they will be moved back automatically and you will be PMed about it. Should you fail to post with them by the next activity check, they will be made permanently inactive like those who fail activity checks.
On that note, I would like to make it clear that this kind of inactivity is different from the chars found in the Inactive Board; chars are moved to the Inactive Board when the players fail activity checks. When applying for the inactivity group, you chars app will remain in their respective board.
-- I'm applying for this/these character(s) to be made inactive. Player : YOUR OOC NAME Name(s): YOUR INACTIVE CHAR NAMES HERE Before : DATE OF THE FIRST ACTIVITY CHECK YOU WISH THEM TO BE EXEMPT FROM Until : DATE YOU PLAN TO ROLE PLAY THEM AGAIN; LEAVE BLANK IF INDEFINITELY
By posting this, I acknowledge that I will not be able to post in the IC boards with these characters until they have been made active again, and I give consent to other players to skip these characters/end all active threads with them if I have not already removed them myself. Additionally, I understand these characters will be forcibly made active 1 year from now if I don't request activity before then, and that I will be required to role play them again before the next activity check, else they will be moved to the Inactive Board and no longer allowed to be played.
